or getting to know the Planning Freak
Oh hey there!
Its so nice of you to check out my very new blog! This post is meant as an introduction and also to get something right out of the way, no actually there are two things I want to get right out of the way:
At first: I am not - although at heart I'd love to be- a native speaker, my mothertonghue is German and therefore any grammar/spelling faults or weird sentence constructions need to be excused on the grounds that my English is not perfect. However I really want to post in English and therefore this is my language of choice! I think in English more than half of the time anyway, so writing in English suits me just fine.
Secondly, I LOVE planning a trip- I do not just like it - I love love it. I think its at least as good as travelling itself. I can tell you today where I'd like to go in four years and what to do there. I read every book and travel blog of the desired destination. I plan every day of my trips.
Some might say this takes out all the fun and sponatanety of the trip, but for me planning the trip is a vacation of itself and the more vacations the better - right?
I really like to make sure to see as much as possible while away and to have the best accomondation while being there and this is best achieved by planning your trip in detail.
Can you guess where I'm heading next?
So there you have it. I am a planning monster, who will enjoy its' trips twice, once when planning and once when actually travelling and I intend to let you be a part of it, every step of the way!
But wait! There is one more thing: I love food! The first thing I do when I am in a new place is that I look for a lovely café or cute restaurant where I can get an impression of the real life in that place. I don't care that much about museums and historic landmarks - I mean they are fine once and then, but I prefer to get to know the food and and people first... So in this blog I'll put an emphasis on culinary experiences - although food may not be that present in my trips from the past years - as I always loved to travel that way, but haven't documented it that much back then... I hope you can excuse this little detail and I promise, there'll be a lot of talk about food in my entries about the US in the West trip!
So I invite you to come along for the trip, it's going to be great - I planned it that way! ;-)
